
Jamesen Birkel
Jamesen Birkel is a board-certified Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) with a Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. He gained specialized experience in addiction medicine during his preceptorship under Dr. Ralph Bharati, one of the Midwest's most experienced psychiatrists.
Bringing a broad perspective to mental healthcare, Jamesen has experience treating patients of all ages and most recently specialized in telemedicine practice across Washington, Oregon, and Kansas. He is passionate about holistic health, which was emphasized during his time at Brigham Young University-Idaho, where he completed internships that included working with leprosy-affected families in India and educating students on nutrition.
Originally from Salem, Oregon, Jamesen has found his true home in Southeast Idaho. When he’s not working, he’s likely traveling, playing sports, enjoying the outdoors, or spending time with his wife and three energetic boys.
