
Dr. Thomas John
Dr. Thomas John, PhD, is a licensed psychologist and doctoral-level school psychologist specializing in the intersection of mental health and academic achievement. With a unique professional background that includes two years as a special education teacher, Dr. John possesses a practical, "in-the-trenches" understanding of how school teams can effectively accommodate students facing mental health challenges.
Dr. John earned his undergraduate degree in psychology from BYU-Idaho before attending the University of Tennessee, where he completed his Master’s in Applied Behavioral Analysis and his PhD. He completed his clinical internship within the Tennessee school system and his postdoctoral fellowship at Ascend Mental Health Center.
Outside of his clinical practice, Thomas is an avid reader and outdoorsman. He lives with his wife, Natalie, and their five children, where he can often be found mastering board games or video games.
